About F.I.D.O. Montrose & the Montrose Dog Park Project
F.I.D.O. was formed by a small group of people to develop a dog park in Montrose. We have been working with the City of Montrose Parks Advisory Committee to find a location and are currently in the park design process. Once we complete the design, we will work with the City of Montrose to build the park of your dog's dreams! We anticipate having a memorial area where you can honor those who will enjoy the park in spirit.
If you or your business would like to be part of this project, give us a call. We welcome volunteers for all of our upcoming events.

Why a dog park?
A dog park provides a safe environment for puppies and adult dogs to play and exercise safely in an enclosed space. Well-socialized puppies turn into better canine citizens.
A dog park gives dog owners a designated space to exercise their dogs, which leads to fewer off-leash dogs in community fields and parks. This helps prevent incidents with other park users (such as joggers and small children) and those who may be fearful of dogs. Tired, exercised dogs make better next door neighbors and are less likely to bark incessantly, destroy property or jump on neighbors.
The emotional, health and social benefits of pet ownership are unquestionable. A dog park provides elderly and disabled owners with an accessible place to exercise their companions. A dog park helps build community and lasting friendships between dogs and their owners. Dogs help to bring people together and break down many social or economic barriers.
Additionally, a dog park typically reduces the amount of pet waste in other city parks.
